Supervision is about you as the therapist.

Many people believe that supervision is supervision and it does not matter if you fit with the supervisor or not. However, just like therapy, you have to find a supervisor that you connect with and share the same or similar values.

Whom do I supervise?

I can supervise several different license types in the States of Washington and Idaho.

  • Washington:

    • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

    • Licensed Advanced Social Worker (LASW) - 50 hours count towards licensure

    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - 100 hours count towards licensure

  • Idaho

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Clinical Supervision with Andrea

I have been a clinical supervisor since 2015. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Social Work. I have a Doctorate in Social Work, specializing in rural communities. I have been providing psychotherapy since 2013. I am certified in Adlerian Therapy and have specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I specialize in trauma and PTSD.

As a therapist, I take a more laid-back, relational approach, which I also bring into my supervisory experiences. I am a big Brene Brown fan and try to lead with vulnerability as much as possible. I do not know it all, but I will try to help you find the answers you need if I do not know them.

I ask that those I supervise meet with me at least twice a month and email me an agenda a day or two before our meetings so that I can do any research ahead of time. This does not have to be detailed, just a general outline. I enjoy supervising anyone working towards licensure but particularly enjoy helping people who are interested in opening their own private practice. I have knowledge of how insurance works and the ins and outs of private practice.

Supervising future clinicians comes with an increased risk, so I like to do a video consult before agreeing to supervise you. If you are interested, please email me at theruralsocialworker@gmail.com, and I will schedule you for a consultation. Please note that I only offer in-person and online supervision in Clarkston, WA.
